Experience five unforgettable days in the safari capital of South Africa featuring two full-day Kruger National Park safaris, two game drives in the private Blue Canyon Game Reserve, an interactive sunrise bush walk, a traditional bush braai and a scenic cruise on the Blyde Dam in the Blyde River Canyon.

Designed for guests wanting to spend more time in the bush, this four night safari combines extensive wildlife viewing with a variety of experiences across the Greater Kruger region. Operating with return road transfers from Gauteng, guests spend four nights at a conveniently located 4 star lodge. With two full days in the Kruger National Park, two private reserve game drives and a collection of memorable Lowveld activities, this itinerary offers five unforgettable days exploring one of South Africa’s premier safari destinations.

DAY 1: SUNSET SAFARI AND TRADITIONAL BUSH BRAAI: Your safari adventure begins with a road transfer from Gauteng. Arriving in Hoedspruit during the afternoon, you will be transferred to your 4 star lodge, your home for the next four nights. After settling into your accommodation, you will depart on a sunset safari in the Blue Canyon Private Game Reserve. As the bush begins to cool, wildlife becomes increasingly active and your guide will search for animals while sharing their knowledge of the reserve and its inhabitants. As darkness settles over the landscape, you will arrive at a clearing in the bush where your dinner awaits. Enjoy a memorable evening beneath the African sky before returning to the lodge for the night.

DAY 2: FIRST FULL-DAY KRUGER NATIONAL PARK SAFARI: Departing before dawn with breakfast packs from the lodge, you will enter the Kruger National Park as the sun rises for your first full day of wildlife viewing. Travelling in an open safari vehicle, your guide will take you through some of the park’s most productive wildlife areas while sharing their knowledge of the animals, birds and ecosystems that make the Kruger so famous. Most of the Kruger traversed by Bushbaby Tours and Transfers is covered in open grassland with large trees and plenty of plains game such as zebra, as well as large numbers of elephants and hopefully a big cat sighting or two. Lunch is enjoyed at one of the park’s rest camps (at your own expense) before continuing your search for wildlife throughout the afternoon. After a rewarding day in the bush, you will return to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.

DAY 3: SUNRISE BUSH WALK AND BLYDE DAM CRUISE: Your day begins with a guided sunrise bush walk led by an experienced guide. Exploring the bush on foot allows you to appreciate the smaller details of the environment, from animal tracks and insects to birdlife and indigenous trees. Following breakfast, you will depart for a scenic cruise on the Blyde Dam. Surrounded by the towering cliffs and dramatic scenery of the Blyde River Canyon, this relaxing excursion provides excellent opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing. Hippos, crocodiles and numerous waterbird species are frequently encountered during the cruise. You’ll then visit the world famous Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. Later that afternoon, you will return to the lodge where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before dinner.

DAY 4: SECOND FULL-DAY KRUGER NATIONAL PARK SAFARI: With another full day in the Kruger National Park ahead of you, this morning offers a fresh opportunity to experience one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations. Departing before sunrise with breakfast packs from the lodge, you will once again venture into the park in search of the incredible wildlife that makes the Kruger so famous. A second day in the park allows your guide to explore different areas and habitats, increasing your chances of encountering species that may have eluded you during your first safari. From large elephant herds and towering giraffes to predators resting in the shade or moving through the grasslands, every day in the Kruger offers something different. After another rewarding day of wildlife viewing, you will return to your lodge to relax and enjoy your final dinner in the bush.

DAY 5: BLUE CANYON SUNRISE SAFARI AND BUSH BREAKFAST: Your final morning begins with an early departure to the Blue Canyon Private Game Reserve. Accompanied by your guide and tracker, you will set out in an open safari vehicle as the bush awakens to a new day. Early mornings are often among the most productive times for game viewing, offering excellent opportunities to encounter wildlife while enjoying the beautiful golden light of sunrise. Following your safari, enjoy a memorable bush breakfast in a scenic setting before returning to the lodge. Your adventure concludes as you connect with your return road transfer to Gauteng, bringing an unforgettable five-day safari experience to a close.

WhereHoedspruit with a return transfer from Johannesburg
WeatherIn the Kruger Park, even if the weather is inclement, your safari will proceed - animals frequent the roads when it is raining to avoid walking in the wet grass. The roads also retain heat which the animals enjoy in cooler weather. If the weather is inclement or if it has rained for a few days, Blue Canyon might become inaccessible and if that is the case, your safari there maybe cancelled. We will keep you informed and will offer an alternative activity if this is the case
What to WearWhat to Wear: Even in winter, temperatures can exceed 30 degrees Celcius so we recommend comfortable cool clothing. No need to purchase special neutral-coloured clothing - a normal tshirt and shorts or jeans in winter are appropriate for a Kruger Safari. We recommend that you have closed shoes or sneakers for climbing in and out of the open safari vehicle but as it does get really hot, flip flops or sandals can also work. Please bring a windbreaker / jacket no matter the season as the OSV can be windy and chilly in the early mornings and evenings. In winter, a scarf and beanie are definitely worth bringing. We also recommend a tight-fitting hat or cap and sunglasses.
Things to BringWhat to Bring: ID/Passport, binoculars and camera are recommended, sun protection/sunscreen, credit card for SANPARKS entrance/conservation fee & purchases as the Kruger is generally a cash-free zone, cash for gratuities.
