A four-day safari adventure in the safari capital of South Africa combining a full-day Kruger National Park safari, a sunset safari and traditional bush braai in a private reserve, a scenic cruise on the Blyde Dam in the Blyde River Canyon and an interactive sunrise bush walk.
This diverse three night safari combines wildlife viewing, scenic excursions and authentic bush experiences across the Greater Kruger region. Operating with return road transfers from Gauteng, guests spend three nights at a conveniently located 4 star lodge in the Greater Kruger. From open safari vehicles and guided bush walks to a cruise through the Blyde River Canyon, each activity offers a different perspective of this remarkable area.
DAY 1: SUNSET SAFARI AND TRADITIONAL BUSH BRAAI: Your safari adventure begins with a road transfer from Gauteng. Arriving in Hoedspruit during the afternoon, you will be transferred to your lodge, your home for the next three nights. After settling into your accommodation, you will depart on a sunset safari in the Blue Canyon Private Game Reserve. As the heat of the day begins to fade, wildlife becomes increasingly active and your guide will search for animals while sharing fascinating insights into the surrounding environment. As darkness settles over the bush, you will arrive at a secluded boma where a traditional bush braai awaits. Enjoy a memorable evening beneath a canopy of stars before returning to the lodge for a restful night’s sleep.
DAY 2: BLYDE DAM CRUISE: After a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, your guide will collect you for a scenic excursion to the Blyde Dam. Surrounded by the towering cliffs and dramatic rock formations of the Blyde River Canyon, this relaxing cruise offers a completely different perspective of one of South Africa’s most spectacular natural landmarks. As you make your way across the water, keep an eye out for resident hippos, crocodiles and a variety of waterbirds that call the canyon home. Following the cruise, you will enjoy lunch and then visit the world famous Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre before returning to your lodge in the late afternoon. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the lodge before gathering for dinner and another evening in the bush.
DAY 3: FULL-DAY KRUGER NATIONAL PARK SAFARI: Departing before dawn, you will enter the Kruger National Park as the sun rises for a full day in one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Travelling in an open safari vehicle under the guidance of one of our experienced safari guides, you will spend the day exploring the park in search of the Big Five and many other species. The morning begins with a coffee stop in the bush before continuing your search for wildlife. Breakfast is enjoyed at one of the park’s picnic sites before the safari continues through a variety of habitats including open grassland, woodland and riverine areas. Most of the Kruger traversed by Bushbaby Tours and Transfers is covered in open grassland with large trees and plenty of plains game such as zebra, as well as large numbers of elephants and hopefully a big cat sighting or two. Lunch is enjoyed at one of the park’s rest camps before continuing your safari into the afternoon. As the day draws to a close, you will return to your lodge to relax and enjoy your final evening and dinner in the bush.
DAY 4: SUNRISE BUSH WALK AND RETURN TRANSFER: Your final morning begins with an early sunrise bush walk accompanied by an experienced guide. Exploring the bush on foot offers a completely different perspective, allowing you to focus on animal tracks, birdlife, insects, trees and the smaller details often missed from a vehicle. Your guide will introduce you to the fascinating signs and stories left behind by the animals that move through the landscape. Following the walk, you will return to the lodge for breakfast before preparing for your departure. Your adventure concludes as you connect with your return road transfer to Gauteng, bringing your Lowveld adventure to a close.
